Derrick has had a long successful career as a CEO, CFO, Consultant, and Investment Advisor. In addition to starting and running companies, he has played an instrumental role in the research, planning, implementing and executing business venture investments totaling more than $100 million since 2001. Derrick works with clients as a financial consultant, and has served as an acting CFO to help clients build value within their businesses. Derrick has served on the board of El Paso Veterans Business Association as one of its founding trustees.

Before he started Gilgal Financial Services, LLC, Derrick co-founded and served as Chairman & CFO of Covenant Capital Corporation (CCAP) for 9 years, one of the largest Technical Assistance Providers (Consulting) in the nation. They successfully helped nearly 4,000 businesses to obtain financing nationwide. They effectively built a $40 million portfolio by the end of his tenure. Previously, Derrick served an honorable career in the United States Army.
